Dr. Cheryl Gater
Associate Provost and Director
Dr. Cheryl Gater, Associate Provost and Director, is UF’s institutional liaison, responsible for maintaining the university’s institutional accreditation. In addition to overseeing the Office of Institutional Assessment, she oversees curriculum academic policy and is responsible for managing academic programs (additions, modifications, and termination) in accordance with Florida Board of Governors regulations and for the Office of Curriculum Academic Policy. Dr. Gater further assists the Provost with the management of Academic Affairs.
Dr. Gater has spent over 25 years in the Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. She received her B.A. in Business Administration and her M.A. in International Business from the University of Florida and her Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Wilmington University, where her research focused on postdoc satisfaction with mentoring, professional development, and the work environment.
