- Provide campus-wide leadership for, and oversight of, undergraduate and professional degree programs and student academic support services and serve as an advocate for undergraduate education in support of the university’s mission.
- Promote excellence in teaching and advising, and lead efforts to provide a challenging and engaging learning environment for undergraduate students.
- Initiate innovative undergraduate academic programs that build on the strengths and successes of the university.
- Coordinate, evaluate, and enhance the University of Florida’s degree tracking system.
- Serve as the Community College Articulation Officer, maintaining relations with community colleges in the state and ensuring university compliance with state-mandated articulation agreements. Promote development of partnership programs with Santa Fe College.
- Act as the Academic Affairs liaison to the Faculty Senate in all undergraduate matters, including chairing two joint committees: the University Curriculum Committee and the General Education Committee.
- Lead ongoing outcomes-based assessment of the university’s undergraduate academic programs, including the implementation of Academic Learning Compacts.
- Provide administrative oversight for the UF Honors Program, Center for Pre-collegiate Education and Training, Center for Undergraduate Research, Science for Life Program, Innovation Academy, Office of Academic Support, Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program, ROTC, UF Teach, and in coordination with the Division on Student Affairs, new student programs.
