Developing a New Joint Professional / Graduate Degree Program

Requires UF approvals only.

Departments and colleges may institute new joint programs from existing programs. Professional programs are defined as JD, MD, DDS, VMD, and PharmD. New programs following the minimum standards for admission and graduate credit outlined in the Joint Professional/Graduate Degree Program Form do not require Graduate Council approval.

Process:

  1. Prepare a proposal using the Joint Proposal form.
  2. Department(s) approve.
  3. College Curriculum Committee(s) and Dean(s) approve.
  4. Graduate Council approval (if the program deviates from the minimum standards)
  5. College notifies Office of Institutional Research
